My bf and I have been together for 8 months. We are super bad at being emotionally vulnerable and we are generally bad communicators. We are working on it and are both aware but it makes this extra hard.

I don't want to say it first because I asked him out in the first place. That might sound silly but I want him to take initiative every once in a while.

But also I'm getting impatient! I would like to take that step but because he's so scared of emotions I don't think he's gonna say it first. Do I talk to him? I don't want him to feel awkward if I ask him if he could say it. What would you do? Or any similar situations??
