My mom passed away a year ago but I suspect she had PCOS. The specialist said if I have it it IS genetic and my mother most likely had it. It took her two years to conceive my sister, difficulty losing weight, breastfeeding issues, etc. but she had 3 kids so I'm hoping for the same luck!

Answer

I was showing signs of PCOS with inflamed ovaries and abnormal hair growth. My doctor suggested Clomid to make sure I was ovulating. Took it for 3 cycles, but on the final cycle, I dropped a pill down the drain and convinced myself I had screwed our chances. Well, a couple weeks later, I fell pregnant. I'm 39w1d currently. Baby is due any day! Keep trying, don't give up. 
I also began exercising more often and cutting out carbs. Google "PCOS diet."
