My toddler self harms😢

My daughter is 20months and as to be expected she throws tantrums but lately I've noticed after the tantrum she still pretty upset and she scratches her leg and scratches and scratches and scratches until there's a huge chunks of skin missing and she's bleeding. She also pulls het hair, and starting fro hit. Or she'll flat out ignore my requests all together. I'm trying to be patient, but my limits are being tested. Im a single mother, Idk what to do anymore. It overwhelming

Definitely seek psychological help exspecially if this is happening so early on.. I studied in school about this it tends to be a manic episode as such but could be something else but I'm not a psychologist soo ...I hope you the best wishes remember tuff love helps... best of wishes

I would see a doctor for this behavior, she might have something like OCD or anxiety, and it would be good to catch on early, to avoid triggers. There might also be trauma she suffered if she wasn't always in your care, that she might not be able to express yet. Worth it to see your doctor and then possibly be recommended a specialist. Could simply be the "terrible twos" coming early.

Contact your local family services, sometimes called family advocacy- they may have some good resources and guidance for specialists

Consider having her evaluated by a psychologist. I don't know if there are any developmental delays accompanying these behaviors but it never hurts to see a professional.

my daughters the same age, when she tantrums she bites her fingers and pulls her hair. we saw the health visitor today and she said although it's distressing for all of us it's how she shows her frustration.it's horrible; hang tight mama!
