Have you started cleaning your baby's teeth?

He's 8.5 months old. He has 2 teeth that actually aren't even fully and completely all the way out. They're like halfway out. Should I be cleaning his teeth with a washcloth now or wait till they're all the way?

Agreed with above comment, not necessary but good habit to start now so It's not a new thing when it becomes necessary. I've always swiped my sons gums with a washcloth at bath time but just recently started using one of those baby finger toothbrushes since he cut a tooth.

I work at a pediatric dental office and actually dentists recommend if breast feeding before they even have teeth to be wiping their gums after feedings . But especially once they have teeth to brush them. We have been wiping her gums beforehand and she got teeth early and have been brushing at the minimum twice per day ever since they started poking through .

My son is 7.5 months and he's had his two bottom teeth since around 5.5 months. I brush them every night during bath time!

As far as I can tell it's not completely necessary yet, but good to get in the habit of doing it.
