PCOS Problems...
I'm here to vent, there, that's my disclaimer- you know to read something else if you don't want to listen to me whine... haha
So, my husband and I decided to start TTC. This is a pretty stressful topic for me because I have always known that I would have issues in this department and it probably doesn't help that I am 32.
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 17. Yes, I was the very confused hormonal teen who couldn't understand where all this hair on her chin was coming from. They didn't know a whole lot about it then, they told me that I would probably get cysts, the hair would never go away, it was a cause of cancer and I would have trouble conceiving. He gave me Metformin and birth control and sent me on my way. I stopped taking the Metformin all together when a Nurse Practitioner decided to triple my dose...
When I was 22, my then husband and I decided to start trying for a baby and figured I would get help if it didn't work after a year... it took 2 weeks. I gained 100 pounds, and I had to work really hard to lose it!
Fast forward to now, I work out 6 times a week (like banshee work out) watch my carbs like a hawk and am still over weight. I have read and heard how metformin has helped people Concieve and helped with weight issues. When I went to the doctor two days ago, he refused to give me metformin saying they don't really use it for PCOS anymore and told me he wasn't going to prescribe anything to regulate my period until I missed it for 3 months!
So frustrated!
That was alot of history for my little rant- haha. Sorry!
