Why do people cry when they get proposed to?

Girl I was JUST thinking this I'm amazed that I saw this post. One of the things I worry about is if I don't cry when proposed to lol 
So I've been w my man 6 years and we talk about marriage pretty often. The other day we were just joking around talking about his family and for a second he got this look on his face and I just thought "oh my god is he really gonna do it" and I KNEW that he wasn't because it just wasn't the right time at all...but honey...my imagination got the best of me. I was just IMAGINING him going down on one knee and it had me in tears. 
Mind you, I am not an emotional person whatsoever. I do not cry unless frustrated or angry, but literally just imagining it I had to stop myself from bursting out into sobs.

I didn't cry at all but I did laugh. I guess people just deal with surprise differently

I'm probably one of the few who didn't cry. I didn't cry when he proposed and I didn't cry when I found my wedding dress, neither did my mom or grandma. I guess we aren't criers at happy times! Not everyone responds the same way to emotions and that's perfectly ok!
