Ideas for getting rid of pubic hair

Okay so for years I've just shaved down there and it's been okay. I hate how it seem to get razor burn . It's just not fun. I tried waxing once and was sore for a good week. That whole area was inflamed and hot to the touch and I couldn't stand my SO touching me. We're both very hot and bothered people so not having sex was tough on both of us.

I'm getting tired of the constant shaving, razor burn and bumps but my SO loves it and honestly so do I-we both are kind of phobic about body hair-lol

Any suggestions that won't turn me red and inflamed?
