If you have a mirena IUD, can your SO feel it during sex?

My SOs exact words were "it's like a toothpick poking me" 🙄 I want to know how it is with other couples before I consider removing it since I think he is overreacting. Thanks!

When I had Mirena my SO could feel the string poking him. I ended up having it removed for many negative reasons. Getting Mirena was the worst thing I ever did for myself.

If your SO can feel the strings you can go back to your GP and get them to cut them shorter. With time the strings soften and curl back up around your cervix, so he shouldn't be able to feel it.
You do need the strings tho to check it's still in place. Initially recommend to check after each period and then every couple of months after a year or so

I had mine removed because I would get hurt if we had to rough sex. There were also some positions we couldn't do because it would hurt.
And my hubby could feel it in which he said sometimes it didn't bother him but sometimes it would poke him and hurt a little.

When I had mine my husband could sometimes feel the strings (that was peace of mind to know that it was still there) but it never hurt him. He couldn't feel it with his penis only his fingers. I loved having mine in best form of contraception for me personally. If it's poking him maybe get it checked to make sure it's not falling out (that's how my friend had her second kid)
