What does it officially mean to be TCC?

Question

I had my IUD removed about 4 weeks ago. Should I be doing anything in particularly to get pregnant? I have a follow up visit with my OB/Gyn in 2 weeks. I haven't been charting and I have never had normal cycles. I was the pill for 8 years and switched to the ring and got pregnant. Post birth received the Mirena. I don't know where to start?

TTC just means that you are actively wanting to get pregnant and not using any form of contraceptive (obviously haha) - how involved you are is on a personal basis. Starting out I wouldn't get too overly stressed by doing the million and one different things - start taking some prenatal daily vitamins, and maybe start using ovulation prediction tests to give you an idea when you're in your fertile window and should be gettin it on every other day. You can do more of course, but that's where I would start - get to know your cycle and your fertile window and then have fun with it for a while. If you find yourself stressing out then step back and do a little less because stress can definitely prevent conception. If it doesn't happen in the first 6 months, then go chat with your doctor and get a little more involved

start tracking your basal body temp and tracking ovulation with opk's... timed intercourse on your fertile days... perhaps try preseed or something like it... start taking prenatals and watching your sugar, caffiene and alcohol intake as if you were pregnant already.... do some research about how the reproductive system works, like what hormones trigger ovulation, how many days it takes for certain things to happen,  symptoms you may have throughout the month that could help you stay more in tune with your body and what its doing..... if you are doing this stuff and still haven't been pregnant after a year then it would be time to consult with a fertility specialist. good luck! ☺

Thanks ladies! LOL, I had no idea I should be tracking my basal temp. I will also check into predictor tests because I have no idea what my fertile window is or if I am even ovulating yet. I have been told it does take some time post IUD. THANKS SO MUCH!!
