BF said no to lunch with colleague

My bf doesn't like to eat out much and I on the other side am a big foodie who bookmarks all the hot restaurants in town. And it's restaurant week so I especially want to try something new. I have been experienced a lot of frustration around asking ppl out for lunch. So when my colleague a boy couple year younger than me who has a girlfriend said he's interested, I find a place for lunch today and texted him on Friday night. My bf found abt the text and said he's not happy about. I explained to him and he's not cool. I had to cancel and try to find a girl to go this morning without success. I'm so upset and but I still want to go. So I have to go by myself which I hate so much.

We've been together for almost two years. What do you girls think?
