Lack of ultrasounds??😠

Last ultrasound I had was at 20w and I just found out I won't be having anymore unless I pass 40w... so 20 weeks without an ultrasound and hopefully everything is still ok basically...Is this usual practice or am I missing something???

It's usual practice. You only get two (the dating scan and the anatomy scan) generally unless you're high risk.

2 ultrasounds during pregnancy are completely normal given you are not high risk/dont have complications. There is no need to expose baby to waves. 2 ultrasounds mean you have a healthy pregnancy 🌹🌹🌹

This is normal. Some women choose to have an elective ultrasound (pay out of pocket) to see the baby in the third trimester, and some have another out of medical necessity.

That was how my pregnancy was.  1 at 8 weeks and 20 weeks.  I had an elective 3d one at 30 weeks but ast a specisl facility, not a part of the doctors plan.

I got one at 12 weeks, one at 18 weeks, one at 36 weeks and now I'm getting another one at 40 weeks and 5 days. I was bummed about it too but like, if you're healthy and your baby seems to be doing okay, there's not a huge reason to check on it all the time. Plus like everyone else said, insurance will only cover a few. Of course you wanna see your baby all the time but there honestly not much to really see. Unless you pay out of pocket and get a 3D/4D one, that'd be pretty cool!

Yep I've only had one at 6 weeks and one at 20 weeks. I'm 34 weeks now and they said I won't have another unless something goes wrong.

I had one to see how far I was and the anatomy scan. I'm high risk and still won't have another one unless my doctor thinks there is really something wrong with me. It's normal. They ultrasounds are for necessary medical situations. Not just because or for mothers liking.
