Contraception after birth?

Hi guys. Baby girl is two weeks today and I was wondering when it is ok to have sex again/go on birth control. I had a natural birth with no scaring/ issues afterwards and my bleeding is dying away. Over all I feel great physically but was wondering if there is a certain time period to allow before sex.

Usually it's after your 6 weeks check up with your OB and they'll also ask you about what you are wanting to do as far as contraceptives.
