would this work on dark hair to those who have used this? do i need to use the bleach in it?

You should just use L'Oréal Hicolor highlights in magenta mixed with red. It gives a nicer result and is less damaging. You can get it from Sally's

I don't recommend Splat at all. I've tried to use it without bleaching my dark hair and it was very faint and not noticeable at all and when I have bleached my hair before using the color, it was only vivid for a few washes and was faded within a couple of weeks.

I've used splat & I recommend bleaching your hair & just using manic panic. I've used splat once and hated it. I used the 3 color combo set with the bleach it came with & it turned out lookin like this....very dull, faded very slowly. The red turned orange, the blue turned this ugly green color and I can't even remember the third color....it was a complete mess. I actually had to professionally bleach it with 2 different sessions just get the color out of my hair.

This is after I bleached my hair & decided to use manic panic. It faded very well, very vibrant colors. I was able to use the colors how I wanted to (multiple & many different ones). No ugly fading & No extra bleaching involved.

This was back in my high school days so I look quite different now & I keep my hair all natural. I have had my fair share of experimenting with dyes and manic panic is the best one I've found. You will have to bleach your hair to get the color payoff but if that's the color your going for you will have to bleach it anyway.

You don't need bleach I used to dye my hair with this and my hair was black and it went red quickly it lasted for a month for me .
