I am pretty sure i am pregnant, but i started my period. has anyone had there regular period during the first couple months of pregnancy?

My mother in law had her period for 5 months the first time she was pregnant and a friend of mine had theirs the first 2-3 months. Also I went to the ER for kidney stones and they told me they had to test for pregnancy even though I was on my period because it is possible to get it while you are pregnant.
