Help , first time mom 😞 my husband and I are getting no sleep. Is someone always supposed to be up with baby ?

We have this fear he will throw up and choke in bassinet or something like that happening. Baby is two days old and we haven't slept at all 😩 I'm about to break down

No. No one has to be awake 24/7 with the baby. Go to sleep! Take turns napping during the day if you need to. Baby will be fine - you'll hear them fuss when they're hungry.

The first week I maybe got about 6 hours sleep. It's hard but you will get through it. Sleep when your baby sleeps. If you are breastfeeding try feeding while laying down so you can get some rest, do whatever you can in the first few weeks to survive. Seek help from family whenever you can.

The first two weeks were the hardest for me. Sounds bad but I wanted to take it all back. The lack of sleep was driving me crazy. Don't worry, it gets better. You're still adjusting but you and your body will get used to it, just give it time. My son is now 9 weeks and even that I still don't sleep that much, it definitely doesn't feel like before. I feel way better now. Don't feel like you have to watch over them 24/7. They're fine, just keep him in the same room. He'll let you know if there's something wrong. Hang in there!

GO TO BED! The most dangerous thing for a baby is tired parents! You guys both have to remember to take care of yourselves too! The baby will be okay! You can find a crib wedge so if throw up does happen they aren't flat

If you are worried, turn your baby's head to the side, and if they are sick, it will just run down the side of their face (and likely wake them up from the wet sensation) 
No-one has to be up when the baby is sleeping; if they cry or make a noise, it will wake you up by instinct. 
The worst thing you can be right now, is sleep deprived. 
If you are finding it difficult to sleep, get youtube on your phone and a pair of headphones, then find these two youtubers; 'Gentle Whispering' or 'latte ASMR'. Choose a soothing video, have the sound fairly low, and I guarantee you'll either calm sown or fall asleep completely. 
One thing we do is; I go to bed at 10 while husband stays up to take care of baby. He then goes to bed at 12:30-1am after she's had a last bottle. We'll all sleep for a few hours, then when baby wakes up, I take over; usually after a solid 4-6 hours sleep. Usually, she'll sleep for another 2 hours 2-3 times. It's kept us sane, and means I don't need to nap during the day (I get things done when the baby sleeps! Which is wonderful!)

Babies are super good at turning their heads if they spit up. You can turn their head before they go to sleep if that eases your mind. But honestly, get some sleep. You will wake up at the slightest noise they make. No one has to be awake with the baby 24/7. If you're sleeping in the room with them they will be fine.

You have to car nap with baby it's going to get easier trust me the first two weeks are the hardest after that it'll be a breeze...try having a family member or friend come over to sit with baby a couple or few hours just so you can get a good long nap that helped me with my first. But be patient moma trust it gets easier once you adjust and baby starts sleeping longer. Congratulations on your new bundle of joy 🤗

I co-slept with baby. You get more sleep, baby feels much more comfortable and secure and can feed whenever(if breastfeeding) not comfy on the bed, set up a makeshift camping area in your nursery or living room I don't know. I pretty much told my husband to get over goalkeeping (he was WAY against it). I wasn't sleeping, was irritable and bitchy all the time. As soon as I started co-sleeping, EVERYONE in my house started sleeping better.
