Have you experienced a miscarriage before?

I just went to the doctor today. According to the date of the first day of my last period the baby should have measured around 8-9 weeks but the gestational sac just measured around 5 weeks. I was told it was a blighted ovum. Basically the sac is there, but nothing in it. They said it's too early to be for sure, and to come back in 2 weeks. I'm preparing myself for the worst and was just wondering who else has been through a miscarriage. I know the statistics online, but I am just trying to see/connect with those that have been through it on here. Sorry for the personal question.
