Epidural.?

Question

How many have you ended up using epidural? Did it hurt was it scary ? Did it work for you .?

I went 12 hours without it, then finally caved and got it. It didn't hurt at all! I was literally throwing up from the pain of the contractions prior to the epidural. 30 minutes after getting it, I fell asleep and slept through the next 5 hours of labor until they woke me up and told me I was ready to push haha it was AMAZING!! This time around I'm getting it as soon as I can!

I didn't even feel it when I got it, the contractions were much worse. After I had the epidural I immediately felt relief and got rest until I was ready to push. I don't regret getting mine. I just had our daughter on 7/26/17 first time mom and I am glad I made the decision to get one.

I had one and will have one again with baby 2, not scary at all, I barely even felt it. It worked perfectly for me, took away all pain but I could still feel enough pressure to know when I needed to push and was able to get up and shower about an hour / hour and a half after my daughter was born. No after pains at all, I couldn't even tell where it might have been in my back because i felt that little.

It's amazing I'm very afraid of needles but it's quick and painless compared to contractions I slept for hours after I got mine

I have had one with all 3!! my first I went 12 hours before I got one. the second I got when I was 3cm about 6 hours into labor and with the last baby I had one as soon as I got to the hospital. I just had been admitted and the guy showed up!! highly recommend them lol

I got my one. They numbed the area before they stick you and I got relief before they were even done. It was awesome. However, mine actually worked too well! The whole time I thought I was pushing with all my might, I really wasnt pushing as hard as I thought. I was too numb. I pushed for 2 hours.

I got the epidural and it was fine at first but the after effect was horrible, like I couldn't do anything without feeling like i was going to pass out. It literally made me feel like ive been drained every time my back slightly bent. I will never get one again.

It doesn't hurt you just feel a pinch and a pull on your spine .. it all went smooth afterwards

Compared to the contractions it didn't hurt at all! Unfortunately the first one didn't work and I had to get a second one, but still, the pain is nothing comapred to contractions. The worst part is to hold still while the anesthesiologist puts it in, that almost killed me 😂
