First Gyno check - any expectations?

this is going to be a long one guys..

I'm turning 22 soon and I've had an irregular period for years since I was about 15 or something. and it doesn't come every month, more like every 3 more months in a year. my mom has been pushing me to make a gyno appointment but I'm so frightened because I don't know how it will feel. I am sexually active and I've done blood exams, thyroid, urine tests, and everything has come out negative. I am on my period currently, barely with any cramps and it was dark red almost brown when I spotted and then became bright red by the next day. I got my period in April and completely skipped May. so I'm scared to find something wrong but I want to get rid of my fear of the gyno.

any suggestions?
