Effaced

Just had my cervix checked for the first time. I am 36 + 5. It was not painful at all (some other posts had me worried) and baby's head is VERY low and my cervix is 50% effaced. I have been having a ton of very strong Braxton Hicks contractions with cramping and back pain on and off for the past few days. Once baby had engaged and you were 50% effaced, how long before you went into labor? I know everyone is different, I am just curious to hear stories 😊
