GBS positive?

Does anyone know if you can get a heplock iv if you're GBS positive? I just wanted to be able to move around freely during labor

Answer

Yes, you should be able to. The antibiotics are for your baby, not you, since it's already part of your normal flora. The antibiotics shouldn't run that long. Also most IV poles are on wheels these days so worst case you or someone else rolls the pole around while you walk.
