Cradle or bassinet?

Ladies would you purchase a cradle or bassinet instead? I can't make up my mind and I want her next to me for the first few months

I just got a crib because then I don't have to buy any extra stuff. We had it in our room for the first 5ish months, than moved it over to his room. We got a convertible crib, so it'll last a good 4 years at least. Plus, we didn't have to bother with getting him used to a new place to sleep, because he's always slept in the same crib :) easy! We plan on doing the same thing with this one.

Most people I know recommended using a pack n play because you can get much more use out of it for a much longer time.

With my first I purchased a Moses basket/bassinet and it only lasted him about 8ish weeks and then I had to use his cot . I wish I had got a crib, on baby number 2 and I'm looking into getting a Chicco next to me crib. I've heard they have a lot more room and you can co sleep/have you baby close in the safest way x

I got a dock a tot and a crib. I have a small bassinet to go next to my bed but I'm assuming that I'll just keep in the dock a tot with us and cosleep.

We had a bassinet in our room for the first three months then moved him to his crib in his own room at three months. Either choice is fine but a cradle is more for rocking which is something I liked to do for my baby myself so bassinet was better choice for us. Our bassinet also had wheels to easily moved baby from room to room whereas a cradle rocks so it would have had to stay put.

Pack n play. They'll grow out of a bassinet within a month. Maybe a little longer if you're lixky.
