Take an extra shift or stay with your kids?

[wasn't sure were to post this]  Let's say its your day off, and they called from work asking if you would like to take an extra shift. Would you take it? or would you reject the offer to spend some time with your kid(s)?

Unless we were so poor that the extra money from the shift would make a world of difference, to me- going in wouldn't be worth it. I want all the time with my kids as possible. They grow up too fast.

I always took it. i was a single mom though and needed the money. ended up in me getting promoted though so that was a bonus

The only reason I picked work is bc I'm only part time so I'm home with my daughter all week except a few nights. Now if I already had plans and it fell on the only day I have off with my husband, then I'd say no unless we needed the extra money.

I didn't vote because I would do both. I'd say yes to some OT's if we were saving for something, and I'd say no to some if I felt my kids needed my time. Just depends on the current circumstances.

Work. My current situation doesn't allow for me to have a day off even though I'm currently unemployed.

I would because I need extra money to help take care of my kid. My baby isn't here yet though so it wouldn't be a problem as of right now.

I would if I absolutely had to... however, adding a shift means adding a sitter, and that costs money:( I work at a hospital, so when the census is low they will offer you the night off...lots of people will pass on it, but I'm literally ALWAYS on board with taking the night off...if I have PTO I put it towards that, stay home, and cuddle my baby! I don't make much money, but I am able to afford what I need..,so until I can't, I will shamelessly take the shift off/not go in for an extra one...🤷‍♀️
