TTC #2 for me (#1 for my fiancé)

Hello ladies, I have been TTC for the past month with my fiancé and just went to the bathroom to be disappointed by the sight of not being prego. I have a 5yr old from a previous relationship, I am 30 and my fiancé is 28. I was a disappointed to see my menstrual cycle start, but I don't want to take the joy/excitement out of conceiving. Like I really don't want to become overly obsessed about trying. Any positive advice would be greatly appreciated.
