My boyfriend and I were talking about "national days" and I said a passing comment about how I thought they were kind of stupid because they're basically made up. He got really offended and started being really rude about it. I tried to reason with him and tell him it didn't matter but he kept getting upset and said I was taking personal shots at him when I wasn't. It basically turned into a big deal when it really didn't need to and he started saying things that reminded me of my emotionally abusive ex. He really isn't usually like this and he said he was tired this morning but I don't know what to do. Does anyone have comments or tips on how to resolve this?
