Anyone still breast-feeding their now one-year-old? When do you plan on weaning them?

To those of you who have started weaning, how did you go about it? If you are not weaning yet, tell me why! 😊😊❤️❤️

My LO has pretty much weened himself during the day- I didn't really have to try... but he still nurses before bed, once in the middle of the night around 3 and some times in the morning when he wakes up. It's mostly for comfort, as he eats tons of food and drinks cows milk. Don't know when or how we will ween off night time feedings:)

Mine is almost 13 months and I have no plans of weaning yet.  Neither of of us is ready to give it up,  so I'm just going to continue until he or I decide it's time to wean.

We are not weaning yet because neither of us are ready to yet. We both enjoy it and depend on it. World Health Organization suggests continuing to breast feed beyond a year. Also, I truly believe breastfeeding has helped keep her well in her first year. She only got a fever twice this year. Both times, it was gone well within 24 hours.

I say when she decides. But I draw the line at naked butt crack in face which happened tonight since it's super hot she took her diaper off then proceeded to do spins while nursing...

My LO is almost 13 months and we started weaning during the day right around his first birthday.  I decided to wean because my son was nursing less and less during the day. I started by giving him a sippy cup with pumped milk after he woke up from his morning nap (he's already used to drinking water from a sippy cup). He was a little confused the first day, but after that took it without problems. I also gave him some crackers (think something salty to encourage being thirsty) to snack on with the milk.  A week later I did the same thing after his afternoon nap.  Just note that this is easier if you have a decent supply of frozen breast milk.  He's now transitioned to drinking cows milk or almond milk during the day, but we are still breastfeeding first thing in the morning and before bed because we both like it.  Best of luck!

I slowly did the transition before going back to work. However he was still feeding before bed and in the morning (between 4 and 7) and then when I got back from work at 4. He weaned himself over time and only feeding about an average of 7 mins per feed for a while. After going back to work, I couldn't do the 4am feed anymore cause it was too tiring, so the day I decided to wean him of that feed (a Saturday) he slept in. So I only fed him his breakfast and continued the day as normal. Since 
then he has slept in past the feed and I don't feed him in the morning anymore. I do however still want to nurse him so I continue the before bed feed and sometimes a 4pm feed after work. And use it to soothe as well if I want him to nap (mom's secret weapon to getting him to sleep when dad can't )
