Nurses (Smoking)

So Im getting into the Nursing Field. But here's the thing; I'm a smoker and I've been for about 4 yrs or longer. I'm kind of worried that this will affect me. I can go hours without smoking, ill chew nicotine gum or wear a patch. But I'm afraid if I'm a smoker and a nurse it may make me look bad. Or I'm afraid that it could ruin my chances of getting hired. I know many hospitals don't even allow people to smoke on the property anymore. I know i should just try quitting but that's easier said then done. Anyone else a nurse that smoke...or smoked. - Thanks for all the comments and reassurance it definetly helped!
