36th percentile??

I'm 32 weeks and Bub was measuring on the 36th percentile?? Can someone please explain what that means?

Answer

It means your baby is larger than 36 % of 32 weekers, and 64 % are bigger than she is.  It's not really a good or bad thing.  As long as she stays on her own growth curve she is doing fine.  They look at percentiles before and after birth to look for a sudden drop in growth rate.  If she were in the 75% and then next visit had dropped to 25%, for example, that would be cause for concern.
