So my fiancé and I don't want to wait o get married so we are thinking elopement with a couple friends then in a year when we can afford a wedding do the wedding with all our friends and family, but we aren't telling my parents or his sisters about the elopement. Is that bad or messed up.

I would definitely keep parents in the loop. I wished that we would have eloped and just told our parents and then after our honeymoon had a simple reception. But it all worked out in the end and we got so much stuff from our reception that it was worth it. 😂

Make sure you go through with the wedding, everyone says "theyll have a wedding later" and it usually never happens.. I regret not having a wedding

Me and my husband eloped, but we told my parents, his sisters, and some of my close friends. We kept it a secret from the rest of my family because we were gonna have a wedding a year from the date, but then I got pregnant so we just told everyone what we did lol. It's tough to keep it a secret. But I think you should definitely tell your parents, they'd probably be pretty upset if they found out after the fact.
