Provera pill and TTC?

I have been taking the Provera PILL (Medroxypr AC) for a few months to make myself have a period. If I don't take it, I don't have one. I take 10mg for 5 days and am supposed to get my period 2-14 days after I stop. The first 4 months, I had it 2 days after I stopped. Last month, it was 10 days! I got so excited thinking I was pregnant.. 😔 I'm afraid it's starting to stop working. Did anyone use this to help with TTC and it ACTUALLY HELP?? It took 7 years of being told I couldn't have kids before my first was born. I just can't wait that long again..
