Baby watch tv? And if so when did they start

Question

So my daughter is very sick with a cold and i have realised tv is kind of like a pacifier. Somthing i didn't want to use but it has helped more then anything. So my daughter cries alot from her illness and we practically are not able to settle her. I placed her in front of tv and it helps so much. She watches for about a hour while i get my strength back. Shes 4 1/2 months. They say flashing toys are the same.

some days you just gotta do what ya gotta do! I try not to let her watch but on really rough days when I don't have the emotional strength, we'll watch a Disney movie together or an episode of sesame street. it's not gonna kill her, I grew up watching plenty of tv 🙄

Mary poppins is actually her favorite bc we sing the songs a lot. this was around 5 months when she was going through a sleep strike and I just needed some time to recoup.

I hope to be able to avoid it for a while. like 6+ months at least unless it educational..... my cousin didn't even try to avoid it.... she always has cartoons playing for her little one 24/7.... he is 2 months old and from day one she has had a tablet mounted to the back seat  in her car so she can put cartoons on for him to watch while she's driving..... that's way too much way too soon in my opinion ...

I have 3 kids, I let them watch educational programs and my oldest son was reading fully by age 4.5 and my 3 year old already knows his abc's, numbers, shapes, planets etc. My younger ones would see it too as the older one watched, it's fine.  As long as it's not all day every day, I see nothing wrong with it. On YouTube check out ABCKIDTV ABC and shapes show, busy beavers, super simple songs. On Netflix mine like the leap frog ABC and numbers show.

To make it a habit at that age is obviously not healthy, but to use it a bit to help you both get through this challenging time? I say so what it takes and don't feel bad!
