When do I take an opk?

I have a 38 day cycle and currently been TTC for 11 months. We are going to try preseed and OPKs this month. What cycle day do I start testing to find out my ovulation?

Answer

I averaged out at a 36/37 day cycle after my Mirena removal. I started testing the day after my period to figure out ovulation. So CD1. Found out I ovulated anywhere from CD19/21. I used the cheap wondfo brand and they worked like a champ. I tested once in the morning, around 9am, and in the evening around 6pm. Some say not to use first morning urine, but I didn't find that it effected the results any. If you chose not to, however, limit fluids, and do a four hour hold before testing for best results to let the hormones build up. Best of luck and baby dust!
