For all pregnancies early genetics testing is available. However my doctor only encouraged it for high risk . Since I'm not she said "I wouldn't, it can cause more harm than good"

I'm an idiot and ignored her. Well got some inconclusive results that now mean a whole shit ton more tests, a day spent in tears and a lot of rough conversations.

I wish I had never ordered the test in the first place.

So the question is, for non high risk pregnancies. Does the option for early screening do more harm than good?
