Firstly, I hope all those affected by Hurricane Harvey are well & safe, my heart breaks for you and if at any point you feel this post is insensitive please let me know and I will delete the post.

I would like thoughts and opinions on Pastor Olsteen during this tragedy. It was reported that he would open church doors once shelters reach "full capacity". On the day of the tragedy, Pastor Olsteen reported his church was flooded and therefore could not provide shelter to victims. After much deserved pressure from social media, pastor has allegedly purchased air mattresses and has FINALLY opened the church doors to those affected.

His statement, personally, makes me itch. The church is one of the pillars of the community, thousands of people go to church every week to seek spiritual refuge. It doesn't matter what other shelters are doing, those doors should have been the first to open. Yet, when the community and the people need ACTUAL PHYSICAL HELP, the church is no longer responsible? This is a slap in the face to the people of Houston and members of his congregation. So you open your doors to collect tithes but close them when you need to put that money back into the community.

Again, if at any point anyone feels this is insensitive I will delete. I hope all those affected have found refuge.
