12 wks pregnant & spotting, is this normal?

I am 12 weeks pregnant and have been spotting bright red, is this something that is normal or happens often? It really makes me worry about the health of the baby but I have no way to get to a doctor right now (to far outta town) I've been told that I shouldn't worry but that's really hard... thoughts or experience?

I was told bright red meant to get to a hospital as soon as possible. Spotting can sometimes be normal but not a bright red color.

Try and call your OB office. I don't want to worry you, but I haven't heard of this being normal now that you are almost in your 2nd trimester. I heard bright red could be bad also, but I'm not a doctor! Just call your doctor and see what they want you to do.

The same thing happened to me at 15 weeks but it was due to a sexual intercourse and I run to the dr I think you should go as soon as possible!

I had bright red blood today I'm 14 weeks 3 days and it turned out to be a scratch on my cervix, I had a scan and baby is perfect and happy so bright red blood is not always a bad sign but defo needs investigating. Did u get checked?
