Flu Shot?

Question

My GP called me offering a flu shot if I wanted one. I've never had one before, I work in a school so I have a very strong immune system. 
I'm leaning towards not getting one just because I've heard that the majority of people who get the flu shot for the first time end up getting really sick. I don't want that to happen to me, especially near the beginning of my mastering leave. 
Any suggestions?

You do not get the flu from the flu shot. Here is an article from the CDC about misconceptions: https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/qa/misconceptions.htm
It is recommended for all pregnant women to protect you and your baby. The version you get is not a live virus. Getting the flu can be dangerous to your child so I take all precautions that I can and will be first in line to get mine when it becomes available at work. I also have a very strong immune system, but it only takes one person to be sick to infect you and I'm not taking the chance. If you have more questions, please speak with your doctor (they are the best source for information).

Also a teacher and I'll be getting my flu shot and the whooping cough shot and so will my husband. 
The flu shot won't give you the flu but may give you a cold or just make you feel under the weather for a few days. It's better than getting the actual flu though!

I'm a teacher and 25 weeks. I'll be getting one and my husband will be too, I puke enough as it is, i don't need the kiddos getting me sick!
