choose medicine to combat the one symptom that is the worst, that way your baby is only exposed to one medication and not many.

I was also told to take non sedating antihistamines if I needed one since it can cause drowsiness in baby. & that any medication containing pseudoephedrine shouldn't be used since it can lower milk supply! Not sure if this one particularly has pseudoephedrine, but just incase!

Most of my reading states that most cold and flu medications are safe. That being said, they do say it's better to go with a medicine that has one ingredient and suppresses one symptom than to go with a medication with multiple ingredients. The less ingredients, the better. This medicine here includes doxylamine, which can cause baby to be a little drowsy. Doxylamine can cause supply issues though. It's not uncommon at all for any antihistamine to decrease milk supply in breastfeeding mothers.

Download the app LactMed, it's a great resource to look up medicines to see if they're safe to take while breastfeeding.

I would definitely avoid the night time version. Some cold medicines can effect milk supply as well.
