How do I help my Kindergartner get better at coloring, cutting, writing, and fine motor skills? Tips?

My child has been in Kindergarten for almost two weeks. The teacher said he needs to improve in these areas. What are some things that can help him get better?

Practicing at home. Look up age appropriate crafts and exercises on Pinterest.

Practice cutting straws, its fun.  Then use the pieces like beads to thread on string.  practice writing basic shapes first,  like straight lines, zig zags, curves, etc.  Buy kud friendly tweezers and a turkey baster to practice moving things and liquid from one place to another.

Put him in an art class if you have one locally.  I teach art and have seen dramatic improvement in fine motor skills in a matter of months!  Plus, it's so much fun!

Another fun strengthening exercise is to give them construction paper and scissors and let them make confetti that they can throw outside. Anything that you can get them to do without them thinking it's work.

Can you do hand-over-hand with him?
With coloring and child-safe scissors, do those activities but put your hand over child's hand so that they know how to grasp it and how to follow lines
