Deciding to Conceive While In College
Hello!
So, I am wondering about what you think of TTCing while in college. To give you a bit of back story: My husband (27) and I (21) have been married for three years and together for a total of six years. I am currently in college for Human Relations and working 10/15 hours a week, and he has a stable career as a Master Brick Layer. We want for nothing, and are what I would describe as stable both mentally/emotionally and financially. We live in Montreal, and are the definition of home bodies.
We are considering starting our family earlier than most would consider acceptable. I have a lot of experience with children, and while I know motherhood will be difficult in ways I can't imagine, that does not deter me from moving forward. My husband is 100% on board. He is off for most of the winter, and says that he would be more then willing to fill the shoes of a SAHD during his breaks. Because we live in Quebec, childcare is supplemented and if/when we need it, my university's daycare would cost us no more than $8 a day. As far as diapers and formula go, I would plan on cloth diapering for most of the time, and taking all measures necessary to breast feed/pump.
What is your input when it comes to having a child young? So many people talk about regret when it comes to having a baby when in school, but I feel that my situation is an exception and that I am as ready as I will ever be.
