Every time I see someone write FTM (as in first time mum) I read it as FtM (female to male). It's hella comfusing and it took me ages to work out what on earth people were going on about! Like, why are all these trans people suddenly preggo?

I know!! Onetime I had to reread a birth story and after a while I gave up and commented: "wait you're a trans man? That's pretty awesome that you just gave birth congrats on the cute baby!"
She was like "FTM means first time mom"
And I was like "well shit"
YOU CANT USE THE SAME ACRONYM FOR BOTH 😂😩

Actually me. The first time I ever saw ftm as first time mom was on this app and I was SOO confused.

I get so upset with a lot of the abbreviations and acronyms on the daily (here and on any social media/texting platform 😂) that I'm starting to feel old! lol I'm embarrassed to admit it but an example that took me way longer to to figure out was POC. When I figured out it wasn't Pirates of the Caribbean (obviously 😂) I thought of "pieces of crap"? Like POS but politer? I feel bad and embarrassed it took as long to realize it meant People of Color 🤦🏼‍♀️
