Water breaking, or just crazy pregnancy discharge?

Last night Sleep was virtually impossible because of lower back pain and BH. I noticed I was wet down there but just ignored it and continued to try and sleep. When I got up finally a gush of this very watery slightly white tinged discharge fell onto the floor! I haven't noticed if I have lost my mucus plug or not but I am 37 weeks tomorrow. My midwife said that it doesn't have to be a huge gush to indicate your water has broken. But I don't know if things are just different down there because my body is preparing for labor! Any other ladies have experience/advice?

My water broke at 37+2. It came in two phases. The first one came right after I stood up from the toilet after peeing. It wasn't a lot like how you described, but it was clear. I thought it was pee, but it was a bit thicker. The second round came about an hour later and was a ton. Same thing, clear and kind of thick. I don't know how else to describe it. Thick is a bad way, but it wasn't as thin as water.

I constantly felt wet down there towards the end of my pregnancy and I also did not notice losing my mucus plug, my waters did however go when I rolled over in bed and woke me up and it really did gush and carried on for hours just randomly gushing. I never got any labour pain for hours after either but usually they want you to go in and get checked if you think your waters have gone maybe give l&d; a ring see if they want you to go in and see 😊

My advice is always to get it checked out, worst they will tell you is it was a little pee or normal vaginal discharge. Did it have any odor to it? Even if you're not having regular consistent contractions, if your water has broken they may want to keep you and monitor for infection since that barrier has been broken.
