Elevated WBC

Is it normal for your WBC to be elevated during miscarriage? I'm just wondering if it is normal, or if my body was fighting an infection I was not aware of. Mine was at a 14.1. Anyone have any insight? This is my first MC, so I'm not sure what is normal and what's not. TIA!
