How do you stay positive when someone tells you they just got pregnant?

My husband and I are TTC #1 for 3 months now, and I feel like I am always hearing that someone new is pregnant! I feel discouraged lately, but I of course want to be happy for them. Is there something you tell yourself to stay positive?

I agree with all the comments made so far. Usually, I repeat to myself over and over that I am so happy for them. I envision myself in their shoes and how I would want everyone in the world to be as happy as I am in that moment. If it was easy for them, that's a wonderful gift! If it wasn't, and they have been trying as well, then I'm so glad it finally happened for them! I would want them to be equally happy for me when my time comes. And, as my friend always says, fake it till you make it! So if you say to yourself out loud that you are happy for them, you eventually will feel genuinely happy.

I understand how you feel! I know a lot of people and have been ttc for 12 months so you can imagine the amount of pregnancy statuses I have seen.. It gets disheartening! I just usually have a good cry and then try to avoid Facebook whilst they are having their excitement. I usually like their status or say congrats but I just try to avoid the situation. I have to remember it's not their fault and they don't know I'm ttc or even how long I have been, and I feel so bad for being quite ignorant to their special time, but you have to find what works for you and stick with that :) don't feel bad, you have every right to feel the way you do xx

I remind myself that it is in God's hands and His timing is perfect. I can't see the big picture that He sees and maybe it needs to happen later for a reason I don't yet know.

I like to think that everything happens when it's supposed to happen. I was single most of my life, and every guy I dated I just didn't feel all that attached to, so I never took it further, and started to think I just wasn't capable of falling in love. Then BAM, meet this guy, started to really get attached to him.. And then he dumped me, and I switched dating sites and met the love of my life ;) Life works in mysterious ways, so while these other people are having kids right now, you have more time to reach the point where life says yes to you. You never know what's out there waiting for you until it comes. Maybe you or your SO will get the job offer of a lifetime, but only because you were able to attend a certain event you might have skipped if you were pregnant, or had a baby already. Just a thought ;)

Thank you! I think I just needed someone to tell me it's ok to feel this way and you understand!! I keep telling myself that God's timing is perfect, and I just need to wait. I like the avoiding FB idea! Right now, my husband and I can continue to enjoy our time together!
