Step parenting blues

Venting: I sometimes want to run away and not be a step parent anymore. It is sometimes so disruptive to family life and I just don't know what to do. It's like loving a child with very hard rules and you are often reminded that , "you are not his Mother."

Step Mothers have it particularly hard . You get involved in the kids life and the Birth Mom often gets jealous and makes unnecessary drama.

If I was a step dad, I would be applauded for how involved I am.
