A little more than spotting

Ok Ladies, I have a question. Today is the first day of my fertile window. I am spotting. At first I was like oh it's a bit of the last period. Now I'm getting worried as it's more than a few drops when I potty or more than a drop when I wipe. I could use a panty liners or lite tampon for the evening for sure. We have been trying for over 3 years, I wonder if this is part of the problem? Is my period that messed up? Or can your ovulation week cause you to spot? I'm not sure if a bit of a period could come out 6 days after it ended? Any suggestions other than cancer? Cause that's all Google boils down too. LoL.
