C section. General Anesthesia anyone?

Question

I'm scheduled to have a c section under general anesthesia. I had spinal surgery when I was younger, which makes a natural birth a no go. 
Has anyone had a c section with anesthesia? How was it? About how long were you under after your baby was born? Etc. 
Any insight is greatly appreciated!! It's our first baby. :)

I had an emergency C section and. Half ways through it I was put to sleep. It's no different than falling asleep on the couch and then waking up in your room because you parents carried you to your bed . You just feel groggy and THIRSTY very THIRSTY

I was... The last thing I remember before giving birth was being inside the surgery room and having hardcore contractions (it was an emergency csection) when I woke up I was in my room and with lots and lots of pain. I was very tired and I think I slept like for a full on 6hours I couldn't see my boy until a day later (he was in NICU) because of how bad I felt. It's just the pain that killed me afterwards but it does get better.

I wasn't put under but I blacked out right after my baby was born and I didn't wake up until two hours after they closed me up. I still don't remember a thing! But I will say this, because it wasn't planned for me to black out it bothers me that I don't remember anything after seeing my little girl. I don't remember them closing me up or rolling me back to the room or any of that! I don't remember holding her for the first time either. I am pretty positive I just went to sleep because I do remember about two hours later and my first memory was mid conversation with my mom. It's extremely annoying knowing that. So just kind of tell your SO or a family member to take lots of pictures and remind you what you missed. But since you're going under they aren't going to let you do anything major really until you're alert! Expect to sleep for around two hours after and be extremely tired so it's probably best not letting family members visit until you've had time with your baby! For me the first time I remember holding her outside of the OR was 4 hours after she was born!!!! You'll need to advocate for breastfeeding also because they sort of automatically start supplementing if you aren't aggressive with saying no. I said I was going to supplement until my milk came in and they didn't do skin on skin or anything and my milk supply was majorly affected by that! Also I don't know if they will allow anyone to be back there but beg your doctor for your SO or mom to be back there and take pictures. Please advocate for that since you won't have those memories! I cherish my daughters picture of my doctor holding her up and the facial expression is her first cry! That's something you have to advocate for since they usually don't allow it! What's the reason for GA if I may ask? I'm having my 4th section and I'm seriously thinking of doing GA because I'm kind of freaking out about it and if anything small happens it's probably going to put me over the top. I don't want to miss those "1st," but I'm worried about how my body is going to react.

My first baby ended up being emergency csection, under GA because the epidural stopped working. They had a hard time stabilizing me, and I didn't get out and wake up until a few hours after my son was born. During that time, the father's extended family showed up and they all held my son and passed him around before I had a chance to. It was not a good experience.     This second time, I wanted to try for a VBAC, but baby's head was too big, and after 19 hours in labor and an hour pushing, it was obvious he wasn't coming, so we elected for a csection. Unfortunately, I had the same issue again, where the epidural wasn't keeping me numb during the c-section, so they had to put me under general again.  I don't know how long it took for them to wake me up and stabilize me, my baby had to go to NICU this time, so I wasn't able to see him right away anyways.
