IVF process ?? Confused!!

Question

So I went for my Cycle day 3 testing and I go on the 5th to have an SHG done. I have 19 follicles on my right and 15 on my left. And blood work came back normal. Can someone please explain to me the process of IVF. I've been told that my CD 3 testing starts the "cycle" of ivf because that's my baseline tests. Is this accurate and if so, what comes next??

Hi Danielle, welcome to the IVF Journey! 
Every doctor is going to prescribe different protocols depending on your needs and history. With that, yes, your cycle day 3 baseline starts the IVF cycle, following your SHG, your dr most likely will schedule a Trial Embryo Transfer (TET) and get you started on birth control pills (BCPs) for 8-12 days as a down regulation.  From then, you'll get a period and begin either the antagonist protocol (short protocol) or the long Lupron (long protocol) depending on egg health, age, etc. 
In my experience, I was on antagonist protocol as we suffer from MFI, my husband has low sperm count and low morphology. From the start of our cycle to transfer, it was a total of 3 months!
