Navy wives

My husband wants to join the Navy but I have only had family members in the Airforce so I have no idea how the Navy works. Can we live together on base? We are married and have a 3 month old son. Will he come home every night until he gets deployed? What benefits are there? What downfalls are there? I know it'll be hard on both of us, but it's what's best for our family and future. Can anyone tell me a little about how their life works with their spouse being in the Navy or just military in general?
