Is my son 5 or 6 months?

I know it's a stupid question but the reason I ask because my son was born on mar 1 and my mil says he's 5 months but how is that when he's 26 weeks?! I told her he's 6 months but I didn't bother to keep correcting her because I just in a bad mood.

on the 1st of each month he's another month older. so like on the 1st March 2018 he'll be 1 year old. his birthday isn't on the day 52 weeks would land. he's 6 months old today.

6 months exactly today! My son was also born on March 1 :) It's easy to do months, he's just a month older on the first of each month. Months aren't an even number of weeks, so don't try to convert.
