"Natural" Birth Vent
Now that I'm barely in the third trimester (30 weeks, so a ways to go still) Ive been asked by immediate family and co-workers if I plan to have a "natural birth".
Gotta say, I fucking HATE that term.
Natural to me = You're at home. No medical staff, tools, monitors, meds...You pop that baby out, do everything yourself "naturally" and go plow a field or some shit.
Sorry but to me if you have a shot or c-sec or whatever, that disqualifies you from a NATURAL experience? Nah. You just spent the better part of a year growing this little person and bam, shot? You're birth is now UNNATURAL. Congrats.
Truly pissed off the few birth-warriors at my job when I told them "Oh you were in a hospital? Doesn't seem all that natural to me." after they puffed out their chests and recited their truly heroic birth stores filled with professional staff, sterilized equipment, monitors and all that shit...BUT FEAR NOT! They didn't get a single shot so by golly geewiz their birth was so damn natural.
So over this question. In the future I'm just going to answer that I plan to go as unnatural as can be and have hairless farm animals deliver my kid.
