sugar high?

im so full of tears because i just found out my sugar is high. i know i shouldnt worry myself sick, but the thought of the role it plays in pregnacy i cant get over. this will be baby#1 and i just dont know how to coop with the pain. today i had my 3hr. glucose test today. hopefully it change by the time i find out the results. because if everything stay the same i will be diagnose with diabetes due to pregnacy. im just so hurt. Have anyone experience this or going thru similar situation. i really need someone to talk to😢😢😢😢

For many Mamas, there's nothing that they did right or wrong to get GD. Healthy women, skinny women, over weight women, short or tall...it's about how your body processes glucose right now. Hang in there and take things as they come!

I found out last week I have gestational diabetes! I went to my first appointment with a diabetic educator and nutritionalist! It honestly isn't that bad! They lay everything out for you and are very thorough and very kind! They put all of my worries at ease! As long as you follow your personal plan set out by the dietician you will be fine. I just failed mines as well and on top of that I'm extremely anemic. I never thought i would have that considering I'm a small person and i lost a lot of weight. The normal range is 130 i think i went 10 over. Its okay. Im waiting for my results but im not worried, adding stress to your baby in 3rd trimester isn't very smart

Don't stress. Most woman fail the first one hour test. I did with both pregnancies. The 3 hour is usually the one you pass if you truly don't have GD. Good luck and it's perfectly fine and it's manageable. I know plenty of people who had it and their babies are fine.

Don't worry, if your sugar is a bit high for the three hour, it can be controlled with diet. I had GD with my first pregnancy and she came out to be only 7 lbs. I cried when I was diagnosed but it was a blessing in disguise - I went all out and read through tons of medical journals trying to figure out why it happens. 
1) It can be unique to your placenta. The hormones in one placenta can differ from the next, so this is not a sentence that you'll have it every pregnancy. (I had it with my first, but not this time around.)
2) Women of color tend to be Vitamin D deficient, which could also be an underlying cause of GD. Not exclusive to women of color though - with our lifestyles today not many get enough sunshine. Sunscreen inhibits Vitamin D production as well. It's recommended pregnant women get at least 5,000 IU of Vitamin D a day, so your prenatal is not enough.
3) Too much processed meat increases chance of developing GD. I craved pepperoni pizza, bacon, and bad foods like that with my first. 😭 
And here are some tips I found when it comes to high sugars: 
1) Taking a warm shower/bath can decrease your numbers, so if you have a high number, it's an excuse to pamper yourself with a nice warm bath. 
2)ACV after meals can also reduce your numbers.
3) Light activity can help your insulin sensitivity, meaning lower sugars. Doing heavier activity can cause higher numbers (had a panic attack when I saw my sugars increase after busting my ass in a workout)
7) Fat is good...fats and protein help avoid sugar spikes. It's all about learning how to eat-don't avoid healthy fats! If you drink milk, drink whole milk. If you don't, incorporate foods like avocado, seeds, nuts! 
This is a lot of info but hopefully it helps ease your mind a bit. Fingers crossed for you! It's daunting but you will get through this ☺️
